The short version.
The app is free and there is nothing to buy. Use it to learn German. Do not attack the service or feed it other people's private information.
It is a learning tool, not a translator and not a professional qualification — please do not rely on it for anything that matters medically or legally.
1. Agreement
By installing or using BUILDeutsch you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. The app is published by Mango Medicine LLC (“we”).
2. The app is free
BUILDeutsch is currently offered free of charge, with no subscription and no in-app purchases. If that changes we will say so clearly in the app before anything is charged, and nothing you already have will be taken away without notice.
3. What you may not do
- Attempt to break, overload or circumvent the rate limits on our service, or use it other than through the app
- Extract credentials from the app in order to use our servers directly
- Submit other people’s personal or health information — see the warning shown in the Builder
- Use the app to produce unlawful, harassing or deliberately harmful content
- Redistribute the app’s content as a competing product
We may limit or refuse service to protect the app and its other users.
4. What the app is, and is not
BUILDeutsch teaches German grammar and vocabulary. Its sentences are produced by a grammar engine and reviewed for naturalness, but no automated system is perfect and some output will be imperfect German or an imperfect translation.
It is not a professional translator, and it is not medical, legal or immigration advice. Some content uses clinical vocabulary, which is there to teach the language a physician needs — it is not clinical guidance and must not be relied on in the care of any patient. Do not use the app to make decisions that carry real consequences without qualified human advice.
5. Availability
The parts of the app that analyse sentences and generate speech depend on our server and on third-party services. Those may be slow, rate-limited or unavailable. The rest of the app — flashcards, saved words, your progress — keeps working offline.
6. Your content
Sentences you type remain yours. We claim no ownership of them and, as described in our Privacy Policy, our server does not store them. You grant us only the permission needed to process a sentence in order to return its analysis to you.
7. Our content
The app, its design, its grammar engine and its course content belong to us and are protected by copyright. You may use them personally to learn German. You may not copy, resell or redistribute them.
8. Disclaimer and liability
The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its German will be correct in every case.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of the app is limited to the amount you paid for it, which is currently zero. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
9. Changes and termination
We may update these terms; the date above will change and significant changes will be announced in the app. You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may suspend access if these terms are breached.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you keep the protections of your local law and may bring proceedings where you live.
