The short version.
The app is free to start. BUILDeutsch Pro is an optional subscription, billed by the App Store or Google Play, that you can cancel at any time. Use the app to learn German. Do not attack the service or feed it other people's private information.
It is a learning tool, not a translator and not a professional qualification — please do not rely on it for anything that matters medically or legally.
1. Agreement
By installing or using BUILDeutsch you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. The app is published by Mango Medicine LLC (“we”).
2. Free to start, and BUILDeutsch Pro
BUILDeutsch is free to download and use. Without a subscription you get the first two course units of Der Weg, three DeutschLens photos a day and five Builder sentences a day, along with the flashcards, the dictionary and the cheat sheet, for as long as you like.
BUILDeutsch Pro unlocks everything: the full 90-lesson path and unlimited photos and sentences. It is an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, and new subscribers start with a 7-day free trial.
Billing
Pro is sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and the store handles the whole transaction. The price is shown in the app before you subscribe, in your local currency; in the United States it is $7.99 a month or $49.99 a year at the date above. The subscription is charged to your store account when the trial ends, and renews automatically at the same price and term until you cancel. We never see your card details.
The free trial
The trial is available once per store account. If you do not want to be charged, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends; otherwise the store converts it into a paid subscription.
Cancelling
You cancel through your store account — Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Google Play → Subscriptions on Android — not by deleting the app. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Refunds
Because the store takes the payment, refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies, and we cannot issue them ourselves. Where the law gives you a right to withdraw from a purchase, that right is unaffected.
Restoring and price changes
Pro belongs to your store account, not to one phone. Reinstall the app on a new device and use Restore purchases to get it back. If a price changes, the store will tell you before it applies and, where required, ask for your consent; we will also say so in the app.
3. What you may not do
- Attempt to break, overload or circumvent the rate limits on our service, or use it other than through the app
- Extract credentials from the app in order to use our servers directly
- Submit other people’s personal or health information — see the warning shown in the Builder
- Use the app to produce unlawful, harassing or deliberately harmful content
- Redistribute the app’s content as a competing product
We may limit or refuse service to protect the app and its other users.
4. What the app is, and is not
BUILDeutsch teaches German grammar and vocabulary. Its sentences are produced by a grammar engine and reviewed for naturalness, but no automated system is perfect and some output will be imperfect German or an imperfect translation.
It is not a professional translator, and it is not medical, legal or immigration advice. Some content uses clinical vocabulary, which is there to teach the language a physician needs — it is not clinical guidance and must not be relied on in the care of any patient. Do not use the app to make decisions that carry real consequences without qualified human advice.
5. Availability
The parts of the app that analyse sentences and generate speech depend on our server and on third-party services. Those may be slow, rate-limited or unavailable. The rest of the app — flashcards, saved words, your progress — keeps working offline.
6. Your content
Sentences you type remain yours. We claim no ownership of them and, as described in our Privacy Policy, our server does not store them. You grant us only the permission needed to process a sentence in order to return its analysis to you.
7. Our content
The app, its design, its grammar engine and its course content belong to us and are protected by copyright. You may use them personally to learn German. You may not copy, resell or redistribute them.
8. Disclaimer and liability
The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its German will be correct in every case.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of the app is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
9. Changes and termination
We may update these terms; the date above will change and significant changes will be announced in the app. You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may suspend access if these terms are breached.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you keep the protections of your local law and may bring proceedings where you live.
